What someone less friendly could have done while you were gone:
- Change your wallpaper to a llama (the least of your worries)
- Read your email and send one "from you"
- Grab saved passwords from your browser
- Approve that pending request in your name
- Copy sensitive files or customer data to a USB stick
- Install a keylogger or malware silently in the background
